Melissa Tranchet is a passionate educator and arts administrator who specializes in weaving communities together through theatrical experiences. Her role in the STAMBHA Team is to joyfully bring her enthusiasm for music, theatre, dance, and family into the healing world of STAMBHA.

As a graduate of the University of Michigan’s prestigious Musical Theatre B.F.A. program and as a proud member of the Actor’s Equity Association, Melissa performed professionally in New York City and throughout the United States in such shows as Oklahoma!, NINE, Merrily We Roll Along, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cinderella, Brigadoon, My Fair Lady, and more.

For more than than a decade, Melissa’s creative journey in Switzerland has led her to inspiring collaborations with the following schools and theatre groups: Zürich International School (Drama Faculty, Arts Curriculum Area Leader), Konservatorium Winterthur (Choreographer), ComunicArt Zürich (Director), Das Vollgastheater - ein Projekt der insieme Luzern (Choreographer), Sekundarschule Wila Tösstal (Artistic Director - Theater Proket Woche), Jugendstimmen Zürich (Choreographer), as well as Zürich’s own Theater Arts Collaborative (Performer) and Close Encounters Theatre (Performer, Faculty). Melissa is the founder of The Practice Room in Winterthur, Switzerland, which focuses on English language acquisition through theatre arts courses.
